Clashes continue in Balleramoun, on the northern outskirts of Aleppo city, between Syrian regime forces and a loose coalition of insurgents, including Sayfullakh Shishani’s Chechen jamaat from Jabhat al-Nusra and independent Chechen faction Jaish al-Muhajireen wal Ansar.

Muslim Abdulliev, a Chechen fighter from Sayfullakh Shishani’s jamaat in Jabhat al-Nusra writes an account of the recent developments:
Alhamdu lillah I am in the dunya (“world” –i.e. he is still alive) — the operation is still going on, yesterday night the brothers fired mortars and the infidels are running. Several houses still remain (i.e. remain in the possession of Assad’s forces) and with Allah’s help we will capture them…
The fighter says that the insurgent factions have carried out several night operations against regime forces, who are holding on to some houses — the fighter uses the word for “residential house” — in the neighborhood, with snipers.
